Collection: Beard Oil

Our Ambry beard oils are named for the ambry, the place in a church where the three holy oils are kept. Each blend is inspired by one of those oils and made with coconut, argan, jojoba and grapeseed oils to moisturize your beard and the skin beneath it.

FAQ

What is an ambry?
An ambry is the cabinet or niche in a Catholic church where the three holy oils are kept: the Oil of the Sick, the Oil of Catechumens and Sacred Chrism. The bishop blesses them each year at the Chrism Mass.

How do I use beard oil?
Put a few drops in your palm, rub your hands together and massage it into the skin under your beard, then smooth it through the hair. It works best on a clean, slightly damp beard.

Beard oil or beard balm?
Oil is best for moisturizing the skin and softening the hair. Beard balm adds conditioning and light hold. Many men use both.

Are these the actual holy oils?
No. Our beard oils are not blessed and contain no holy oil. They are inspired by the three holy oils. Curious about the real thing? Read What Does Chrism Smell Like?
